Founded by two businesswomen whose love for understated elegance, bold yet subtle statements and quality products means CBNL is an unforgettable yet quiet new entrant into the luxury scents market.
Carol Bouwer’s love for Oudh and Vanilla based scents infused with Ntsoaki Ledimo’s obsession with Jasmine and bold floral statements mix beautifully to give us the first in their growing scent emporium, simply named just mine.
They have named it to play on their own personal dance with the Jasmine flower but also to remind every woman to take ownership of it as a shared sistershood scent that emphasises a bond forged through an unprecedented pandemic that brought us together at our most distanced.
Fidelity, the new fragrance from the House of CBNL. This South African scent greets you with a top note of Damascus Rose surrounded by Cardamom and Saffron- embedded beautifully with the heart of Patchouli, Sandalwood and Carol and Ntsoaki’s favourite Jasmine. Fidelity is divinely anchored by Vanilla, Amber and Labdanum to produce this season’s must have perfume for every discerning nose. This CBNL scent is certainly yet another winner we are pleased to share with you.
Saffron or Persian red gold is the most expensive spice in the world and also has the power to spice up perfumes. Its use dates back to 1500 BC in ancient Greece, and it is coveted for its singular scent.
Jasmine, both unique and enthusiastic gives a richness and intensity to fragrances: a sweet floral note, but with a dead-sexy muskiness too. It is energizing. It is perfect for heady perfumes. After rose, this floral nuance is the most sought-after in the perfume-making industry making for the foundation pillars of perfumery.
Amber wood belongs to the pine family and the resin is widely used in perfumery for its rich, warm and sweet fragrance.
In fragrances, resins are used as composition notes to add depth and complexity to compositing. Resin smells sweet, spicy, aromatic, or similar to frankincense.
Cedarwood is one of the oldest ingredients used in perfumery, with its balsamic, woody aroma providing a key facet in many popular scents. Native to the Mediterranean and the Himalayas, cedarwood has been revered for its mystical and magical properties by many cultures throughout history. Cedarwood combines extremely well with floral and citrus notes, lending warmth, while the fragrances in which cedar is blended with musk and amber have a green and clean aroma with a retro/vintage energy.
For Carol and Ntsoaki, this has been a labour of love undertaken with sisters across the journey.
From the sourcing of ingredients to the nose and the manufacture, women have been central to the development of CBNL which was and is crucial to the founders.Ladies, enjoy our idea of what the ideal scent for the modern feels like
